🌬️ Stay Well This Winter
As the colder months draw near, it’s a good moment to consider how we can all stay healthy. One of the most effective ways to protect yourself and others from serious illnesses like flu and COVID-19, is by getting your winter vaccinations.
🛡️ Seasonal Vaccines from the NHS
This year, the NHS is offering winter vaccines to those most vulnerable to becoming seriously ill.
👥 Who Can Get Vaccinated?
Vaccines are being offered to specific groups to ensure they receive the best protection. If you’re eligible, we will contact you directly.
Those eligible for the Flu vaccination are:
- Those aged 65 and over
- Those aged 6 months to 64 years with certain long-term health conditions
- Pregnant women
- Children aged 2 or 3 years old
- School aged children (often offered their flu vaccine at school, a simple and effective way to help keep them and their classmates healthy)
Those eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine are:
- Those aged 75 and over
- Residents in care homes for older adults
- Individuals who are immunosuppressed aged 6 months and over
📅 Booking Your Appointment
When it’s your turn, you may receive a text, phone call, or letter inviting you to book.
Appointments can usually be booked via the link in an SMS sent to you, or by phoning the surgery after 10am.
📅 Appointments at the surgery:
The majority of our Flu vaccination clinics are being held on the first week in October (1st, 2nd and 3rd October). However, there will be additional clinics running throughout October. Please contact the surgery to book an appointment.
On the 3rd October, there will be a ‘pop-up’ Covid-19 vaccination clinic, held here in surgery. This is for eligible patients who are attending their Flu vaccination appointment that day, and wish to have their Covid-19 vaccination at the same time (This clinic will not be pre-booked).
